ACTIVITIES

Walking and cycling anywhere! Plenty of established walks along the country lanes, through the rolling hills, over the chalky limestone hilltops, on the GR65 walking paths of the pilgrim route of St Jacques of Compostella. Good for road cycling and mountain biking over the hill tracks.

Swimming Lakes - Montcuq and Montaigu-de-Quercy have sandy beaches, playgrounds and snack bars. Montaigu also has pedalos.
Municipal swimming pool. - Montcuq, next to the tennis courts and football pitch.  
Tennis. There are two good courts at Montcuq
Riding - at the equestrian centre of Lauzerte for all ages and capacities.

Golf de Roucous, Sauveterre. A 9-hole course winding through a wooded valley with water hazards, suitable for players of all standards. Also on site, tennis, swimming pool and club house.

Eating out is a must with good local restaurants and cafés providing great value for money. Wine tasting around the reputed Cahors vineyards - between Montcuq and Cahors there is plenty of choice and some quality wines.

Montcuq Village has old quarters with narrow streets leading up to its tall dungeon and viewpoint.
Montcuq market on a SUNDAY MORNING IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST!
Seep up the local ambiance while immerging yourselves among the colourful stalls or just while away an hour or so in a local café while watching the world go by.
The seasonal Thursday morning Montcuq market along the “promenade” is reserved uniquely for the sale of quality local produce.

The “bastide” village of Lauzerte is classed as one of the most beautiful in France, with its medieval arcades surrounding the square, barbican, pilgrims garden and superb viewpoints.
Lauzerte market on a Saturday morning is held on the hilltop around the arcades of the medieval village.

Rocamador ,Saint Cirq Lapopie, Cordes-sur-ciel Exceptionally well preserved fortified villages in dramatic settings.
Gouffre de Padirac, a boat trip through an underground river allows access to this enormous geological cavern.

Montauban Red brick town, home to the Ingres museum.
Albi Basilica and Toulouse Lautrec museum.
Toulouse Red brick " capital " of the South.
Lavender Distillery, Belmontet. The traditional essential oil of the Quercy.
